21st Party Ideas
Looking For Some 21st Party Ideas?
21st party ideas should not be too difficult to come up with. A 21st birthday is definitely a milestone event, it's the moment when we finally become "legal” in every sense of the word, even though in many places that began to happen at age 18. Still, it's the time when one officially becomes an adult, and the first inclination is to do some of those bad things adults do that those under 21 are not supposed to - primarily drinking or bar hopping.
Make Reaching 22 One Of The Goals - 21st party ideas need not focus solely on alcohol however. For one thing, a night on the town can be fun, but it's nice to make it to age 22 as well. A 21st birthday should be mostly fun, leavened with enough responsibility to make reaching 22 a likelihood if not a certainty. There's nothing wrong with enjoying your first legal drink, whether someone else buys it or you buy it yourself. It's a rite of passage, though not absolutely necessary if you don't drink and don't intend to start. One other thing to consider is, if alcohol is to be a part of the celebration, one may have to take into account that not all the close friends who might be invited have reached 21 yet. Just food for thought.
Some would like to celebrate quietly, some would like to have the biggest blast possible, and most are somewhere in between. No matter what your 21st party ideas are, a good celebration means good friends, family, or both. You can have a good time with one or two others, but a half dozen or more close friends is often the right mix, and can result in a birthday celebration to be remembered by all for a long time.
Less Formal Often Better - While there's nothing wrong with a formal dinner, 21 year old people usually prefer something less formal, and would rather wait until a wedding or an important anniversary rolls around (say the 50th wedding anniversary) before going the formal route. Having dinner with a few friends in a bar or a cafe is probably going to be much more enjoyable, and a barbecue even more so. It it's the right time of year, an outdoor barbecue, coupled with some lawn games can make for a great celebration. Invite friends, neighbors, and who ever happens to pass by, to join in the fun.
Consider An Outing - In the winter, a ski trip with friends can be an excellent idea. Even if not everyone skis, a dinner party in the lodge can be the highlight. If deciding on any kind of an outing, be it skiing, hiking, trail riding, or river rafting, invite only those you know will enjoy themselves, and will not be off to one side when everyone else is having a good time. Some people can entertain themselves for a time in those instances, but others can't. In coming up with 21st party ideas, the goal should be that everyone involved will have a great time, not just the birthday boy or girl.
Other People's Ideas - When someone turns 21, the chances are pretty good that he or she is either still in school, working, or both. That also can influence what makes good sense as far as figuring out what a great birthday celebration might consist of. Knowing a bit about classmates or associates in the workplace can often give a good idea as to what those people enjoy doing, plus co-workers or classmates may have some unique ideas of their own (maybe one owns a yacht!). Invite one or more help you celebrate, then ask them what they think might be fun doing. You might end up with some super 21st party ideas that otherwise may never have come to mind.
